Almost 47,000 pounds of ham and turkey recalled for listeriosis risk

HoneyBaked Foods ham and turkey recalledHoneyBaked Foods, an Ohio-based food processor and distributor, is voluntarily recalling almost 47,000 pounds of cooked ham and turkey products that may be contaminated with Listeria monocytogenes bacteria, according to the U.S. Department of Agriculture (USDA). Infection with this bacteria, called listeriosis, causes symptoms such as fever, muscle aches, nausea, or diarrhea. Listeriosis may be fatal for newborn babies, the elderly, and people with weakened immune systems. The USDA has a Web page which lists the details of all the products being recalled. HoneyBaked Foods also has a phone number for more information about the recall: 1-800-461-3998.
