Spasmodic Dysphonia

Voice box (larynx) / A.D.A.M.Scott Adams, creator of the “Dilbert” comic strip, has it. So does public radio host Diane Rehm. Spasmodic dysphonia is a voice disorder caused by involuntary spasms (dystonia) of one or more muscles of the voice box (larynx). It comes on suddenly, its cause is unknown, and although there is no cure, there are treatments available.
