Infantile Neuroaxonal Dystrophy

From Mary Kugler, R.N., About.com GuideOctober 8, 2006

This disorder affects the nerves in the brain and other parts of the body, causing them to stop working over time. Infantile neuroaxonal dystrophy is usually diagnosed in young children before age 3 based on its symptoms and the results of a medical test. Although a gene for the disorder has been identified, there is as yet no specific treatment or cure.
