Leber Congenital Amaurosis

This inherited retinal degenerative disorder causes an infant to be born with severely impaired vision, and to develop roving eye movements (nystagmus). A number of gene mutations have been associated with Leber congenital amaurosis, and research is studying these mutations to develop treatment to reduce or prevent the loss of sight.
