Nocardiosis

Nocardiosis is an infection caused by bacteria (Nocardia) which live in the soil. If inhaled, the bacteria may cause blood poisoning (sepsis). Nocardia may also infect the skin through a cut or scratch that occurs while working outdoors or gardening.
