Twin-to-Twin Transfusion Syndrome

This syndrome, which occurs in identical twins sharing the same placenta, comes from transfusion of blood from one twin to the other in the uterus. This leads to an imbalance of blood and amniotic fluid between the twins, which can have serious consequences.
